ORDINANCE NO.568
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING BREWING, DISTILLING,
AND SIMILAR USES AS ACCESSORY USES;
AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE
The City Council of the City of Medina ordains as follows:
SECTION I. Section 834.1.04 of the code of ordinances of the city of Medina is amended by
adding the underlined language as follows:
Section 834.1.04. Accessory Uses. Within the Uptown Hame1-1 district the following accessory
uses shall be allowed subject to site plan approval and other provisions of this district.
(1) Off -Street Parking and Loading
(2) Signs
(3) Home Occupations
(4) Temporary Outdoor Display of Goods used in conjunction with and on the same site as
the permitted use or conditional use, provided that the goods are not outdoors
overnight and the storage or display area does not exceed 100 square feet.
(5) Outdoor Recreational Sports Courts; which are only permitted as accessory uses with
conditions.
(6) Solar Equipment, subject to the requirements of Section 828.09 of the City Code.
(7) Brewing, Distilling, and Similar Uses, provided such production does not exceed 50% of
the floor area and provided such activities are accessory to on -site sales or
consumption.
SECTION II. Section 834.2.04 of the code of ordinances of the city of Medina is amended by
adding the underlined language as follows:
Section 834.2.04. Accessory Uses. Within the Uptown Hame1-2 district the following accessory
uses shall be allowed subject to site plan approval and other provisions of this district.
(1) Off -Street Parking and Loading
(2) Signs

(4) Temporary Outdoor Display of Goods used in conjunction with and on the same site as

SECTION III. Section 838.1.04 of the code of ordinances of the city of Medina is amended by
adding the underlined language as follows:
Section 838.1.04. (CH) Accessory Uses. The following accessory uses shall be permitted within
the CH district, subject to applicable provisions of the city code and provided such use is
subordinate to and associated with a permitted or conditional use:
(1) Off-street parking and loading
(2) Outdoor dining and/or drinking areas, subject to the requirements established in Section
838.5.08.
(3) Outdoor display of goods used in conjunction with and on the same site as the permitted
use or conditional use, subject to the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(4) Outdoor recreational sports courts, subject to a conditional use permit and the
requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(5) Outdoor Storage, subject to a conditional use permit and the requirements established in
Section 838.5.08.
(6) Seasonal Flea Market or Farmers Market, subject to an administrative review of
compliance with the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(7) Signs, subject to the requirements of the sign ordinance
(8) Temporary Outdoor Sales Events, subject to an administrative review of compliance
with the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(9) Solar Equipment, subject to the requirements of Section 828.09 of the City Code.
(10) Brewing, Distilling, and Similar Uses, provided such production does not exceed 50%
of the floor area and provided such activities are accessory to on -site sales or
consumption.
SECTION IV. Section 838.2.04 of the code of ordinances of the city of Medina is amended by
adding the underlined language as follows:
Section 838.2.04. (CH) Accessory Uses. The following accessory uses shall be permitted within
the CH -RR district, subject to applicable provisions of the city code and provided such use is
subordinate to and associated with a permitted or conditional use:
(1) Off-street parking and loading
(2) Outdoor dining and/or drinking areas, subject to the requirements established in Section
838.5.08.
(3) Outdoor display of goods used in conjunction with and on the same site as the permitted
use or conditional use, subject to the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(4) Outdoor recreational sports courts, subject to a conditional use permit and the
requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(5) Outdoor Storage, subject to a conditional use permit and the requirements established in
Section 838.5.08.
(6) Seasonal Flea Market or Farmers Market, subject to an administrative review of
compliance with the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(7) Signs, subject to the requirements of the sign ordinance

SECTION V. Section 838.3.04 of the code of ordinances of the city of Medina is amended by
adding the underlined language as follows:
Section 838.3.04. (CG) Accessory Uses. The following accessory uses shall be
permitted within the CG district, subject to applicable provisions of the city code and provided
such use is subordinate to and associated with a permitted or conditional use:
(1) Off-street parking and loading
(2) Outdoor dining and/or drinking areas, subject to the requirements established in
Section 838.5.08.
(3) Outdoor display of goods used in conjunction with and on the same site as
the permitted use or conditional use, subject to the requirements established in
Section 838.5.08.
(4) Outdoor recreational sports courts, subject to a conditional use permit and
the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(5) Outdoor Storage, subject to a conditional use permit and the requirements
established in Section 838.5.08.
(6) Signs, subject to the requirements of the sign ordinance
(7) Temporary Outdoor Sales Events, subject to an administrative review of
compliance with the requirements established in Section 838.5.08.
(8) Solar Equipment, subject to the requirements of Section 828.09 of the City Code.

SECTION VI. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption and publication.
