The Tiffin City__Council met in regular session on January
14, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall. Mayor Brotherton presiding,
Councilmembers present: Glenn Potter., Tommy Morgan, Roger
Formanek and Janis Stratton. Absent: Roger Janssen, Also
present: Atty. Ralph Neuzil, Jim McCrabb and Rick McCrabb.
Formanek moved to approve the December 12th regular
meeting minutes. Potter seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Stratton moved to accept the minutes from the January 2nd
special meeting and Morgan seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion to accept the Clerk -Treasurer's report for December was
made by Formanek, seconded by Morgan and carried unanimously.
A request for a building permit was made by Jim McCrabb.
McCrabb submitted an approval statement from the majority of
property owners within 300 feet of the proposed building site.
A motion to grant a building permit to McCrabb Bros. for an agri-
business showroom and display on Railroad Street near Grant
Street upon completion of the application requirements was made
by Formanek and seconded by Stratton, Motion carried unanimously.
Morgan moved to grant a variance from Ordinance #56 to Mr.
and Mrs. Vernon Slade, concerning their property on Summerhays
Street, in front yard requirement only, and any house constructed
cannot be closer to the front lot line than the existing house on
the North 60, of East 60, of lots 11, 12 and 13, Summerhays
Addition. Stratton seconded and mots=on carried unanimously.
Morgan moved that Mayor Brotherton's appointments for the
following be accepted and approved: City Attorney, Ralph Neuzil;
Mayor Pro-Tem, Glenn Potter; Clerk-Treas., Beverly Birtcher;
Deputy Clerk, Janis Stratton; and Official Publisher, Iowa City
Press -Citizen. Potter seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Potter move to approve and accept uniBank and Trust, Coralville,
Iowa as the City of Tiffin's official bank. Morgan seconded.
Ayes: Potter, Stratton and Morgan. Abstain: Formanek. Motion
carried,
Potter moved to pay following bills and accept following
receipts. Formanek seconded and motion carried unanimously.

to their written request.
