AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
RICHMOND TO RECEIVE DONATIONS FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE
WHEREAS the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting donations
for a specific purpose, and
WHEREAS the acceptance of donations for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation for
authorizing the expenditure of such funds in the same legal manner as any other
claims,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that the following donations are hereby accepted, to -wit:
A. $2,500.00 from the Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation, Inc. for the
specific purpose of paying rent and utilities for the Design Center operated by
the Department of Planning and Redevelopment in the building and by Star
Bank, N.A. Eastern Indiana, at 814 Promenade, Richmond, Indiana.
B . $3,657.00 from The Widowed Persons Service of Wayne County, Inc. for
the specific purpose of defraying the on -going expenses of the Widowed
Persons Service program operated by the Department of Parks and
Recreation.
Be it further ordained that each of said donations be receipted into separate funds and properly
titled by the City Controller and not be commingled with other funds within the accounting system.
Be it further ordained that expenditures may be made only for the specific purposes described
herein after claims have been filed and approved in the same legal manner as other claims.
Passed and adopted this 6th day of July, 1992 by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana.
