Weekly Summary Report
Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The code enforcement unit issued five warnings within the gated community this week. The first warning was issued
to a unit at the Whitehall property after a worker was about to commence maintenance work on a Sunday. The
remaining three warnings were issued to residential properties who left bulk waste out several days prior to the
scheduled pick-up day of Thursday.
There were two violations issued to the St. Regis property. The first violation was issued to a residential unit which
performed work beyond the scope of their permits. The second violation was issued to the St. Regis property for an
unpermitted pool deck. There was an additional violation issued to a unit within the Carlton Terrace property after
investigating a complaint of work being conducted without permits.
The SunTrust property was issued a warning for an appearance violation involving a dead palm tree and for the repair
of their sign.
The final warning was issued to an individual fishing on the jetty from the rocks.
Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report
Comments:
Bal Harbour criminal investigations detectives conducted pre -employment background investigations on several
prospective Village employees and college interns. The detectives also prepared an investigative case file and provided
testimony on a recent fraud arrest.

COMMENTS
Bal Harbour police received a call regarding a possible fraud involving an elderly resident. After a brief inquiry with the
elderly resident, the officers determined the resident was a victim of fraud and elderly exploitation by an interior design
company. Bal Harbour detectives in conjunction with the FBI will conduct a follow-up investigation.

Warrant Arrest
Intracoastal Waterway
COMMENTS
While patrolling the intracoastal waterways, the Bal Harbour police marine unit observed a vessel committing several
maritime law violations and initiated a stop on the vessel. A routine criminal history check revealed the operator of the
vessel had an active warrant. The operator was taken into custody and transported to jail.

COMMENTS
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer discovered debris from a damaged palm partially
obstructing the sidewalk. The officer secured the area and remained on scene until Public Works personnel removed
the debris. No injuries or damages were reported.
