The warning was given to a residential property owner who had planted a hedge which obstructed the water meter. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: The Criminal Investigations division conducted a pre -employment background check on an applicant seeking employment with the Village. The criminal investigation detectives also scheduled and conducted several follow-up investigative interviews with victims and witnesses in an active theft and burglary investigation. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests 02/24/2018 Arrest DUI 9700 Block of Collins Avenue COMMENTS While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a citizen alerted a Bal Harbour officer of a motorist possibly in distressed or ill. The Bal Harbour officer located the vehicle and discovered an unresponsive driver behind the wheel of the vehicle. The driver displayed characteristics of impairment and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on their person. After administering sobriety exercises, the driver was arrested for DUI and transported to jail. 02/25/2018 Arrest OV' 9700 Collins Ave (Bal Harbour Shops) COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were contacted by Bal Harbour Shops security personnel regarding a disturbance in the mall. The officers arrived and located all parties involved. The investigation later revealed one of the parties involved in the disturbance was in possession of several stolen items. The individual was arrested and transported to jail. 02/25/2018 Threats / Unfounded 9700 Collins Ave (Le Zoo Restaurant) COMMENTS Bal Harbour police were summoned to Le Zoo restaurant after the manager received a threatening phone call from an unknown female. The female caller advised the manager, "there will be a shooting and a bomb explosion at the restaurant". Bal Harbour officers conducted a coordinated search of the restaurant and the surrounding areas and no suspicious items were discovered. As a precaution, Bal Harbour officers increased police presence in the area for the remainder of the shift. No injuries, damages or other threatening calls were reported. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Weekly Summary Report Incident Type � 02/25/2018 Theft / Firearm 10275 Collins Avenue COMMENTS The reporter stated that he left his vehicle with the valet service several days ago. Upon retrieving the vehicle the owner discovered his firearm missing from the glove compartment. The vehicle had been washed by the on -site car wash service during the time it was in storage. The firearm was entered into a national database and the Bal Harbour Criminal Investigations unit was advised. Completed by: Captain Raleigh Flower Date: March 01, 2018 4
