Van Horne on October 21 Tybee Island, GA – (October 12, 2010) Tybee Island’s Better Hometown Program is pleased to announce that Megan Panther and Darryl E. Van Horne will perform October 21 from 5:30pm until 6:30pm at the Lot at Tybee Oaks, 1213 Hwy 80, for Third Thursdays on Tybee, the family-friendly, free, outdoor musical concert series. Panther teamed with Horne when she was invited to perform with a regional favorite, The Permanent Tourist, with which Horne performs. Music lovers can hear the dynamic duo often at hot spots around Bluffton, Savannah and Wilmington Island throughout the year. As seasoned corporate performers, their shows have included Southern Living’s “Music to Your Mouth” and performances at the famous Fontaine Bleu in Miami. The two have also recorded several original songs that can be found at www.meganpanther.com. Panther says, “We are looking forward to bringing our brand of music to the great crowd at Third Thursdays on Tybee again!” Enjoy this listener’s delight while strolling and experiencing the shops, restaurants and the outdoors on the northern portion of the Main Tybee Corridor. Restaurants will be serving refreshments as always. Therefore, there is no need to bring your own. (Rain location will tentatively be at Huc-a-Poo’s Bites and Booze.) November’s Third Thursdays will highlight the musical talents so The Savannah Ceili Band at the Tybrisa / Strand roundabout on November 18 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. These concerts are made possible with assistance from the City of Tybee Island and sponsorship support of WRHQ radio and Creative Approach. A portion of Tybee Island’s Better Hometown mission is to “support and encourage the arts as a cultural endeavor and economic engine on the Island.” Third Thursdays on Tybee highlights Tybee Island as an inviting and thriving arts community.
