Weekly Summary Report
Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The code enforcement unit issued three warnings and one violation throughout the Village this week.
The first warning was issued to a residence within the gated community for an appearance issue involving the
landscaping. There was also a violation issued to the Whitehall property within the gated community, after work was
observed past the permitted time. The property and workers had been previously warned as to the time restrictions.
A warning was issued to the Plaza property for an appearance issue involving the paint on their exterior wall which
faces the beach. The final warning was issued to the Quarzo property after a contractor was observed beginning work
15 minutes before the permitted time. The contractor had just began this project and was not fully aware of the work
hour's restrictions.
Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report
Comments:
The Criminal Investigations detectives conducted several interviews with the victims of two separate investigations
involving an active fraud and harassment case. Additionally, the detectives were able to identify two perpetrators in two
theft investigations. Detectives will focus their efforts on locating and arresting the perpetrators.

COMMENTS
The Bal Harbour police responded to Saks Fifth Avenue to document a report of theft. The victim, a store employee,
explained to officers that her purse had been taken from the office area. The purse and its contents were valued at
over $700. This case has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations division.

COMMENTS
Bal Harbour police were summoned to the Bal Harbour Shops regarding an individual who had been previously issued
a trespass warning for the property. Bal Harbour officers arrived and located the individual. After a brief investigative
inquiry, the individual was arrested and transported to jail. A routine criminal history check revealed the individual had
an extensive criminal history for numerous felony crimes.

AOA/Bay Harbor Island Police Ruth K. Broad K-8 School
COMMENTS
In response to the recent school shooting in Parkland Florida, Bal Harbour officers in conjunction Bay Harbor Islands
and the Town of Surfside Police departments enhanced police patrols in the area of Ruth K Broad K-8 school and the
Bal Harbour Shul during student drop-off, throughout the day and at school dismissal. Bal Harbour officers will continue
to assist our neighboring agencies with enhanced police presence at these locations.
