HomeMy Public PortalAboutCOTI_PR20101118_CampgroundCelebration.pdf Press Release for: River’s End Campground & RV Park City of Tybee Island Please Run Until November 19, 2010 CITY OF TYBEE ISLAND OFFERS 5th ANNUAL “OPEN HOUSE - CAMPGROUND CELEBRATION” AT RIVER’S END CAMPGROUND & RV PARK The City of Tybee Island is proud to offer a showcase where life and lifestyle meet at the River’s End Campground & RV Park. This free event is a “homecoming” for those who frequent from far away while providing an opportunity to those who live locally a chance to celebrate the partnership forged in July of 2006 between the City of Tybee Island and the Chatham County Recreational Authority. This initiative made the preservation of the property possible to serve as a timely reminder of the passive and pastoral nature of Tybee’s days of yore. As a celebration of these opportunities, the City of Tybee Island invites all citizens to experience the atmosphere offered at the campground with an “Open House - Campground Celebration” on Friday evening, November 19, 2010 from 6PM – 8PM at the River’s End Campground & RV Park. Sites are still available for the weekend! Parking will be located near the Tybee Island Dog Park on Fort Avenue, as well as the City of Tybee Island Police Station on Van Horne Street. From there, the campground is just a short hike down Fort Avenue on the right. Campers of all ages are welcomed as we cook hotdogs on the grill or by the campfire and we wrap up the meal with a delectable, old-time favorite, S’Mores. (For those of you that don’t know what a S’More is , it’s a sandwich of graham cracker and chocolate bar with a roasted marshmallow - Delicious!) Festivities will include a hay ride for the children, kids’ activities, and other fun stuff! The City of Tybee Island would like to thank the sponsors for this event for each of the forms of sponsorship provided to make this event successful. These include Douglas Jones’ Fish Art’, Tybee Island Arts Association, Wal-Mart, and the Tybee Island YMCA. # # # Woody Hemphill, Campground Manager River’s End Campground & RV Park City of Tybee Island (912) 257-9890 “The River’s End Campground & RV Park is committed to providing a passive recreational environment through the development of leisure, camaraderie, and stewardship experiences.
