The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit to you a Weekly Report from the
Bal Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of

Week Code Enforcement Efforts
The Code Enforcement unit continues to monitor the Village for code compliance issues. The code officers also
assisted with the holiday details and monitoring of the beach due to increased visitors for spring break.
Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report
Comments:
The Criminal Investigation Detectives conducted follow-up interviews regarding several active fraud investigations.
Additionally, the detectives attended specialized training in the operation of video enhancement software and computer
generated facial composites

Unauthorized Vehicle on Beach Access

COMMENTS
While conducting a beach check, a Bal Harbour officer located an unattended motor scooter parked on the beach
access path near the jetty entrance. After exhausting all attempts to locate the operator of the scooter, the Bal Harbour
officer had the scooter towed from the scene.

Traffic Arrest
9900 Block Collins Avenue
COMMENTS
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed
a traffic infraction. A routine background check revealed the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended Florida
drivers' license. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

COMMENTS
While patrolling the Collins Ave corridor, a Bal Harbour police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which nearly
struck the police car while making an unlawful turn. During the course of the stop, a computer check revealed the driver
had an outstanding arrest warrant for traffic related infractions. The driver was taken into custody and transported to
jail.

2 Harbour Way, Kent Security Guard House
COMMENTS
Bal Harbour Police were summoned to the guard house at the entrance of the gated community regarding a
disturbance. The officers determined the guard was involved in a dispute with a worker attempting to gain access into
the gated community. The worker presented the guard with proper identification and was subsequently granted access.
No other incidents were reported.
