RESOLUTION OF DIRECTORS OF MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL
PARK DISTRICT IN SUPPORT OF AB 920 (PARK AND OPEN
SPACE LANDS).
WHEREAS, there is a well documented need throughout
the State of California for money to acquire park and open space
lands, and
WHEREAS, particularly at the local level there is
no source of funds beyond the already overburdened property tax,
and
WHEREAS, AB 920 would provide such funds to local
government, as well as to the State, on an assured, regular basis,
encouraging the preparation and implementation of orderly acquisi-
tion programs, and
WHEREAS, such funds would further enable cities and
counties to carry out their State -mandated planning requirements,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT DOES RESOLVE as follows:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors most strongly
supports to passage of AB 920 and urges each member of the Senate
and the Assembly and the Governor to support said legislation and
to complete the enactment of same at the earliest possible date.
Section 2. The Secretary of the Park District is
directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to affected
individual legislators as well as appropriate committees thereof.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Directors of the
Midpeninsula Regional Park District on June 13 , 1973, at a
regular meeting thereof, by the following vote:
