A SPECIAL ORDINANCE EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR AN ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR ALL OF WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA
WHEREAS unemployment and under -employment persist at an unacceptable level for the
citizens of Richmond, and
WHEREAS a co-ordinated effort to encourage economic development for all citizens and
business organizations throughout the City of Richmond and Wayne County,
Indiana, is desirable, and
WHEREAS the establishment of a not -for -profit corporation to be known as the Economic
Development Corporation of Wayne County, Indiana, would serve the best
interests of the citizens and business organizations of the City of Richmond and
Wayne County, Indiana;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that the creation and implementation of a comprehensive and competitive economic development
program on a county -wide basis shall be supported philosophically and financially by the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
