ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION
WARRANT

Constable of the Town of Brewster
Greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby directed to
L notify and warn the inhabitants of Brewster who are qualified to vote in town affairs
to meet at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, in said Brewster on
TUESDAY, the TWENTY-FIRST OF MAY, 2013, then and there to elect the following
officers:
Two Board of Selectmen Members For Three Years
Two Board of Health Members For Three Years
One Board of Health Member An Unexpired One Year
Term
Two Recreation Commission Members For Three Years
One Moderator For One Year
One Constable For One Year
One Planning Board Member For Five Years
One Planning Board Member An Unexpired Three Year
Term
Two Nauset Regional School Committee Members For Three Years
One Old Kings Highway Regional Historic District For Four Years
Member
Two Brewster School Committee Members For Three Years
Non-Binding Public Opinion Advisory Question
Whereas, Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) Director Kurt
Schwartz has acknowledged that Cape residents and visitors are "in harm's way" in
the event of a radiological accident at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth;
Whereas, MEMA has determined that Cape residents and visitors will not be
evacuated but plans to relocate Cape citizens after exposure to dangerous radioactive
materials released in an accident;
Shall we, the citizens of the Town of Brewster find this State response to Pilgrim's
threat to our health and safety unacceptable and in violation of the public trust and
shall we respectfully request that Governor Deval Patrick call upon the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission to uphold their mandate to shut Entergy's Pilgrim Nuclear
Power Station in Plymouth because the public safety, particularly Cape and Islands
residents and visitors, cannot be assured?
The polls will open at 7 o'clock a.m. and close at 8 o'clock p.m.
And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof in at least
seven (7) public places in different parts of Town at least seven days before the time of
holding said election.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of the Warrant with your doings thereon to the
Town Clerk at the time and place of aforesaid election.
