The warning was issued to the Beach Club property after a worker was observed conducting tree trimming on a Sunday. The contractor was unware of the Village code regulating work days and hours. The violation was issued to the Bal Harbour 101 property after a complaint was received of a large truck conducting a delivery at 5:45 am. The circumstances involving this complaint were confirmed and the violation was issued as this property had been previously warned. Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report Comments: The Criminal Investigations detectives were summoned to appear at the Miami Dade State Attorneys' office to assist in the prosecution of an offender in a recent fraud arrest. Additionally, the detectives were requested by the Miami Dade College School of Justice to provide Autism Awareness training for the police chiefs and command officers in Miami - Dade County. Noteworthy Incidents I Arrests r 04/07/2018 Suspicious Person 2 Harbour Way COMMENTS Bal Harbour officers were summoned to the Harbour Way guard house regarding two males that jumped the gate and entered the residential gated community. Officers arrived and made contact with the Kent security guard. The guard advised the officers the males were possible residents of the gated community. Bal Harbour officers immediately canvassed the area but was unable to locate the males. No other incidents or suspicious activity was reported. Date Incident Type Location 04/08/2018 Suspicious Person 290 Bal Bay Drive COMMENTS Bal Harbour police received a call regarding two males fishing from the seawall behind the Quarzo Hotel, officers arrived, however, the males had left the area. Bal Harbour officers conducted an area canvass and located the males on the beach jetty. The males were briefly detained and informed that fishing from the seawall is prohibited. No other incidents or damages were reported. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Acting Chief Raleigh Flowers, Jr. Weekly Summary Report Week of Friday, April 06 — April 12, 2018 04/11/2018 Felony Arrest 10200 Block Beach Access Road COMMENTS The Town of Surfside police received a call of a hit and run traffic crash with injuries. Arriving Surfside officers broadcasted a description of the suspect's vehicle to the neighboring police agencies. A witness to the crash alerted a nearby Bal Harbour officer of the suspect's direction of travel. The Bal Harbour officer located the vehicle and attempted to effectuate a traffic stop, however, the suspect refused to stop and exited the vehicle fleeing the area on foot. The Bal Harbour officer provided a detailed description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Bal Harbour officers located the suspect near the jetty and ordered him to surrender. The suspect refused to comply with the officers' commands and was subsequently tasered and taken into custody by Bal Harbour officers. Further investigation revealed a large amount of marijuana and other illegal narcotics inside the suspect's vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
