AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 1993
POLICE OFFICER AND FIREFIGHTER SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS Indiana Code 36-8-3-3 (d) requires Common Council to fix the annual
compensation of all police officers and firefighters by ordinance before
August 2 of each year for the ensuing budget year, and
WHEREAS such an ordinance has not been adopted to date because collective
bargaining agreements are being negotiated between the City of Richmond
and the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. Local No. 1408 of the
International Association of Firefighters AFL CIO and John Hennigar
Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police, and
WHEREAS it is now possible to adopt a police officer and firefighter salary ordinance
because all parties agree that compensation levels shall remain the same for
1993 as the same have been in 1992,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective
sums hereafter set forth during calendar year 1993, to wit:

Section 3 - Additional Compensation
3.01 In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Section 1 above, the members of
the Police Department bargaining unit shall receive overtime pay, paid holidays,
longevity pay, a clothing allowance, shift pay, educational incentive pay, and
certification -acceptance pay as more fully set forth in the current collective
bargaining agreement between the City of Richmond and John Hennigar Lodge
No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
3.02 In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Section 2 above, the members of
the Fire Department bargaining unit shall receive paid holidays, call back -
overtime pay, a clothing allowance, and educational incentive pay as more fully
set forth in the current agreement between the City of Richmond and Richmond
Professional Firefighters, Inc. Local No. 1408 of the International Association of
Firefighters AFL-CIO.
3.03 In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Section 2 above, the members of
the Fire Department bargaining unit shall receive longevity pay commencing upon
the date which such member has completed the years of active service as hereafter
indicated at the respective annualized rates:
2 years - $ 300.00 12 years - $1,600.00
3 years - 1,200.00 14 years - 1,700.00
6 years - 1,300.00 16 years - 1,800.00
8 years - 1,400.00 18 years - 1,900.00
10 years - 1,500.00 20 years - 2,000.00
