A SPECIAL ORDINANCE TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY FOR OFF-STREET
PARKING PURPOSES.
WHEREAS Resolution No. 29-1991 acknowledged that the acquisition of lands and
structures in the near -downtown area can provide off-street parking which
will assist the economic development of the City of Richmond, and
WHEREAS it is desirable to acquire an existing private parking lot located at the
southeast corner of North 8th and C Streets for off-street parking,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that a part of lot 121 in that part of the City of Richmond laid out by Charles W. Starr and more
particularly described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at a point on the east line of lot 121, 4 feet north of the southeast comer of said lot;
thence north along the east line 55.21 feet; thence south 81 degrees 36 minutes west 105.5 feet;
thence southwesterly along a curve of 45 foot radius an are distance of 40 feet to the west line of
said lot 121; thence south along said west line 18 feet to a point 4 feet north of the southwest
corner of lot 121; thence east 137 feet to the place of beginning, be acquired by the City of
Richmond as an off-street parking facility; that the Board of Public Works and Safety employ two
qualified appraisers to determine the fair market value thereof; that said Board purchase the parcel
for a price not to exceed the average of the two appraisals, and that said Board pay all costs
incidental to said transaction.
Passed and adopted this 7th day of December, 1992, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
