Week of Friday, May 04 — May 10, 2018
Week Code Enforcement Efforts
The Code Enforcement Unit issued four warnings within the gated community this week. The first warning was issued
to a construction site that was observed blocking the public right of way while exchanging dumpster for the site. The
second warning was issued to residential property for the appearance of the lawn. The third warning was issued to a
residential property which had an obstructed water meter which was preventing an accurate reading. The final warning
was issued to an individual whose dogs were observed running at large.
Criminal Investigations Division Weekly Summary Report
Comments:
The Bal Harbour Criminal Investigation Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation regarding several fraudulent
checks that were cashed at the SunTrust Bank in Bal Harbour. The investigators identified the perpetrator and
recovered the $20,180.00 which was returned to the bank

COMMENTS
A Bal Harbour officer assigned to the 9600 Harding Avenue traffic and pedestrian crosswalk detail, conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. A routine background check revealed the driver had an active
warrant. The driver was arrested and transported to jail.

05/05/2018 Hazardous Condition
9800 Block on the Beach
COMMENTS
Bal Harbour police were summoned to the 96th Street beach entrance regarding debris which had washed ashore.
When the officers arrived, they discovered a large 55 gallon drum on the shoreline. Public Works personnel responded
and removed the drum. No injuries or damages were reported.

05/09/2018 Traffic Signal Malfunction
500 Block of 96 Street
COMMENTS
While patrolling the 96th Street corridor, a Bal Harbour officer noticed the traffic signal at the 500 Block of 96th Street
was inoperable. Bal Harbour police personnel managed the intersection until Miami -Dade Traffic Maintenance arrived
and repaired the signal. No injuries or crashes were reported.
