Week Code Enforcement Efforts
The Code Enforcement Unit issued one violation and three warnings this week. The violation was issued to a unit
within the Bal Moral after workers were observed conducting unpermitted work. The three warnings were all issued to
properties within the gated community for appearance issues involving their lawns.

Comments:
Pursuant to a patrol apprehension, the criminal investigations section was assigned a fraud/theft case, which possibly
involves a known organized retail theft ring.

COMMENTS
Bal Harbour police officers were summoned to the Bal Harbour Shops regarding a disturbance involving a parking
attendant. The investigation revealed that an irate customer refused to pay the parking fee and committed a simple
battery on the attendant. The investigation also revealed that the offender was in possession of a small amount of
cannabis. The individual was arrested and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail.

9700 Collins Avenue Saks Fifth Avenue
COMMENTS
Saks Fifth Avenue loss prevention summoned Bal Harbour police officers regarding two individuals in their custody.
The investigation revealed the subjects had committed credit card fraud and a felony theft of $18,000 in merchandise.
The individuals were arrested and transported to the Miami Dade County Jail.

10100 Block Beach Side Hard Pack
COMMENTS
A concerned citizen observed a vehicle enter the hard pack road via 96th Street and quickly notified the police
department. Bal Harbour police officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the hard pack. The driver
was escorted back to 96th Street and was issued citations.
