The violation was issued to a unit in the Balmoral property after workers were discovered conducting unpermitted renovations. Criminal Investigations Comments: The Criminal Investigations Division commenced an audit of all assigned cases dating back to January 1, 2018. The purpose of the audit is to ensure all assigned cases have been properly cleared. Det. Gonzalez continues to assist with the post hire orientation training for the new officers. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 06/22/2018 Traffic Incident 9900 Block Collins Avenue, Sidewalk Comments: While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer observed an abandoned motor scooter left parked on the sidewalk. The scooter was obstructing the pedestrian path posing a safety hazard. The officer issued citations for expired tag and blocking a public sidewalk. The scooter was towed from the scene after several failed attempts to locate the owner. Date Incident Type Location 06/25/2018 Traffic Incident 10200 Blk Collins Avenue Comments: While assigned to a mandatory traffic enforcement detail on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer observed a vehicle without the headlights on traveling on Collins Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. A routine criminal history check revealed the driver did not have a valid driver license and seize tag order issued by the Florida Highway and Safety Motor Vehicles. The driver was issued multiple citations and the vehicle's tag was seized. Date Incident Type Location 06/25/2018 Assist Citizen Intracoastal Waterway Comments: While patrolling the Intercostal Waterways, the Bal Harbour marine patrol officers were flagged down by two kayakers who was unable to navigate their way back to Oleta State Park. The marine officers assisted the kayakers onto the Bal Harbour vessel and transported them to Oleta State Park. No injuries were reported. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers Jr. Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Date Incident Type Location 06/27/2018 Assist Other Agency(AOA)MDPD Intracoastal Waterway Comments: Bal Harbour Police marine unit assisted Miami -Dade Police (MDPD) with a dispute between two males at the "Beer Can" sandbar. MDPD and Bal Harbour marine units arrived and located the individuals involved in the dispute. Once the dispute was resolved, the Bal Harbour marine officers resumed normal marine patrol duties.
