Bal Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of

Weekly Summary Report
Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The Code Enforcement Unit conducted daily compliance checks throughout the village, no violations or warnings were
issued this week. The Code Enforcement officers provided logistical assistance during the Village's Independence Day
Fireworks Event.
Criminal Investigations
Comments:
The Criminal Investigations Division is finalizing the audit of all 2018 cases, upon completion of the audit, an updated
catalog of all cases will be maintained. Additionally, the detectives contacted the Secret Service to follow-up on the
arrest of two males using fraudulent credit cards at the Bal Harbour Shops. The Secret Service is evaluating the
case to determine if they will pursue federal charges.

Comments:
Bal Harbour officers were summoned to the Bal Harbour Shops regarding two individuals attempting to make purchases
with fraudulent credit cards. The officers arrived and located the individuals. Further investigation revealed the suspects
used multiple fraudulent credit card to purchased merchandise from various stores within the shops. The U.S. Secret
Service agents responded and confirmed the credit cards used were fraudulent. The individuals were arrested and
transported to jail. The Criminal Investigations unit will conduct a follow-up investigation with the U.S. Secret Service.

Harbour House
Comments:
Bal Harbour police responded to the Harbour House condominiums regarding a missing or damaged campaign sign.
Officers arrived and met with the reporter who explained that someone removed the campaign sign from the greenspace
of the Harbour House property and placed the sign in the trash. Officers canvassed the area for surveillance footage,
however, the cameras in the area did not capture the incident. No other incidents were reported.

Comments:
While conducting traffic enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop on a
vehicle with an expired license plate. A routine history inquiry revealed the driver was an Habitual Traffic Offender and
operating a vehicle with multiple suspensions on his Florida Drivers' License The driver was arrested and transported
to jail.

Intercoastal Waterways
Comments:
While patrolling the Intercoastal waterways near the Bal Harbour sandbar, the Bal Harbour marine officers noticed a
capsized vessel and a male struggling in the water. The marine officers were able navigate the police vessel close
enough to the male and rescue him from the water. The marine officers secured the capsized vessel and transported
the male to the Haulover Marina. No injuries or damages were reported.

Comments:
Bal Harbour Police devised a comprehensive operational plan to manage the safety and security of all attendees during
the Village's Independence Day fireworks event. Officers were strategically assigned to various control points, traffic
intersections and pedestrians' crosswalks. The event was successful and no major incidents were reported.

Comments:
The Town of Surfside police notified Bal Harbour officers of two individuals who committed a theft and fled running into
Bal Harbour Village. Bal Harbour officers immediately responded to the area and located one subject hiding in the
hedge and a second fleeing the area. Both subjects were apprehended by Bal Harbour officers and released to Surfside
officers. No injuries or damages were reported.

10200 Collins Avenue (North Municipal Lot)
Comments:
While conducting a mandatory security check of the North Municipal Lot, a Bal Harbour officer noticed a female asleep
on a bench under the Haulover Bridge. The officer made contact with the female to inquire if she required medical
assistance. The female told the officer she was homeless and laid down to rest for the evening. Bal Harbour officers
contacted the Homeless Assistance Hotline and located a shelter for the female. The Bal Harbour officer transported
the female to the shelter. No injuries or damages were reported.
