No violations or warnings were issued. Criminal Investigations Comments: The Criminal Investigations detectives identified a perpetrator wanted in connection with an active Hit and Run Traffic Crash. The detectives arranged for the perpetrator to surrender and he was charged accordingly. Additionally, Sunny Isles Beach Police requested Detective Gonzalez to assist them in an active sexual battery investigation involving a juvenile with autism. Noteworthy Incidents l Arrests 7/13/2018 Assist Town of Surfside Police ri 9232 Bay Drive Comments: The Town of Surfside Police requested assistance from the Bal Harbour police canine unit regarding a possible residential burglary. During the search, the officers located the homeowner inside of the residence. The homeowner told the officers the door was inadvertently left open. No damages or criminal activity was reported. 440 Atijk Bal Harbour police were summoned to the Ritz Carlton Hotel regarding several subjects attempting to use a fraudulent credit card. Prior to officers' arrival, Ritz Carlton security personnel notified the officers the individuals left the area. Bal Harbour officers were able to locate and detain the individuals. The individuals were subsequently arrested and charged with fraud and possession of narcotics. No other incidents were reported. 07/16/2018 Comments: Assist Bay Harbor Islands Police Department NE 12 Av and 123 Street Bal Harbour police officers responded to an emergency backup request after a Bay Harbor Islands police officer was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident. Bal Harbour officers arrived and assisted with traffic control. Z 9 r 07/17/2018 Assist a Citizen Haulover Intra-Coastal Waterway Comments: While patrolling the Intracoastal Waterways, the Bal Harbour marine officers where was flagged down by a male aboard a sailboat. The male told the officers he was ill and required medical attention. The marine officers immediately transported the male to the Haulover Marina where he was evaluated by Miami -Dade Fire Rescue and transported to a local hospital.
