The two warnings were issued to residential properties for appearance issues involving the upkeep of their lawns and landscaping. Criminal Investigations Comments: The Criminal Investigations Division identified the perpetrator involved in the snatch -and -grab robbery incident that occurred at the Sea View Hotel on July 11th. The perpetrator was charged accordingly and transported to jail. Additionally, the Bal Harbour Police Department received a letter of commendation from former Miami -Dade County Assistant State Attorney Kathryn Olsen, highlighting Detective Gonzalez's involvement in the successful prosecution of a high profile criminal case. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests r 07/20/2018 AA mrr Hazardous Condition ifir Frontage Road & Bal Bay Drive Comments: While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer discovered a damaged drain grate on the west side of the Haulover bridge. Bal Harbour officers secured the area and contacted Parks and Public spaces to make the necessary repairs. 07/20/2018 Assist other Agency/Surfside Police 9700 Collins Avenue Comments: Surfside Police notified Bal Harbour officers of a theft that occurred at the CVS pharmacy. Bal Harbour officers arrived and assisted Surfside officers with locating the theft subject. While canvassing the area, a Bal Harbour officer apprehended the subject and detained him until Surfside officers arrived. The subject was arrested by Surfside officers and transported to jail. ,...:o Incident Ty Locatio o.`" 07/23/2018 Theft 100 96 Street Comments: Bal Harbour officers were summoned to the 96th Street beach access regarding a theft of two unsecured bicycles. The victims notified the officers they placed their bicycles near a trash can and entered the beach. When the victims returned, they noticed the bicycles were gone. Bal Harbour and Surfside officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the bicycles. The Bal Harbour Criminal Investigations unit will conduct a follow-up investigation. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers Jr. Acting Chief of Police 07/25/2018 Weekly Summary Report Damage Village Property Park Drive and Camden Drive Comments: While conducting power line upgrades, a Florida Power & Light (FPL) crew accidently severed a data cable belonging to Kent Security. Bal Harbour Village public works and Kent Security supervisors were notified. The FPL supervisor was notified and will coordinate the repairs of the data line. 07/26/2018 Traffic & Warrant Arrest 10200 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: While conducting traffic enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction and conducted a traffic stop. A routine history check revealed the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended Florida drivers' license, an altered license plate and an active warrant from Monroe County.
