The first warning was issued to a yacht docked in the marina after officers responded to a complainant of loud music coming from the vessel. The second warning was issued to an individual who was observed permitting their dog to run loose in the area of the beach. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Unit is conducting a photographic inventory of all existing signs throughout the Village. This will ensure that all signage which was deemed permissible by the passage of the new sign code is properly documented. Criminal Investigations Comments: The Criminal Investigation detectives assisted the United States Attorneys' Office in a post -conviction query of a 2015 fraud case, Bal Harbour detectives identified the location of the victims and assisted with the coordination of the restitution proceedings. Additionally, the Criminal Investigations Unit secured a credit card reader device, the device will assist Bal Harbour patrol officers with fraud investigations and identifying stolen or fraudulent credit credits. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests 07/27/2018 Suspicious Incident 148 Bal Bay Drive Comments: Bal Harbour Police were summoned to 148 Bal Bay Drive regarding a suspicious person in the rear yard. Officers arrived and located the individual on the property. After a brief investigative inquiry, officers determined the individual was related to the homeowners and was authorized to be on the property. 07/28/2018 Assist Miami -Dade Police 15000 Block of Collins Avenue Comments: At the request of Miami -Dade Police, Bal Harbour officers responded to 15000 Collins Avenue regarding a sick passenger aboard a Miami- Dade Transit Bus. Bal Harbour officers arrived and remained with the passenger until Miami -Dade Fire Rescue and Police arrived. The passenger was stabilized and transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Incident Type zzz 08/01/2018 Arrest/Warrant Indian Creek Village Comments: Bal Harbour officers responded to assist an Indian Creek Village police officer with an individual with a possible fugitive warrant. The Indian Creek Village police officer confirmed the individual had an active fugitive warrant from Houston, Texas. The individual was arrested and transported to jail. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers Jr. Acting Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report 08/01/2018 Traffic Incident 10200 Collins Avenue Comments: While conducting radar enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. A routine history check revealed the driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended Florida drivers' license and a seize tag order issued the Florida Department of Highway and Safety Motor Vehicles.
