Weekly Code Enforcement
Efforts
The Code Enforcement Unit conducted daily checks throughout the Village and inside the gated residential security
district. No violations or warnings were issued.
Criminal Investigations
Comments:
The Criminal Investigation detectives provided consultation to a resident regarding suspicious activity in his bank
account. The detectives reviewed the transactions with the resident and determined no fraudulent activity occurred.
The detectives provided the resident with an informational pamphlet on crime prevention and identify theft tips
Additionally, the Criminal Investigation detectives conducted a follow-up investigation regarding a domestic violence
incident. During the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered the incident occurred in the City of North
Miami. Detectives contacted North Miami Police who will conduct a follow-up investigation.

Comments:
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer observed graffiti underneath the Haulover bridge.
Officers contacted the Parks and Public Spaces department to respond and remove the graffiti. No other graffiti
incidents were reported.

Assist other Agency (Surfside)
Surfside Police Department
Comments:
Bal Harbour officers responded to the Town of Surfside Police Department parking lot as emergency backup. Officers
assisted Surfside officers taking two subjects into custody. The subjects were issued citations by Surfside officers and
became irate and threatened the officer's safety. Both parties were placed under arrest without further incident.

Suspicious Person
290 Bal Bay Drive
Quarzo Condo Construction Site
Comments:
A concerned citizen advised a Bal Harbour police officer of a suspicious person seen exiting the Quarzo Condominiums
construction site. Bal Harbour officers immediately search the entire site; however, no one was located on the site, nor
any indications of criminal activity. Quarzo management was contacted and officers will conduct daily security checks
of the site.

First Week of School Traffic Detail Ruth K. Broad Elementary
Comments:
In anticipation of the additional traffic associated with the first week of school. Bal Harbour Police officers assisted the
Town of Bay Harbor Islands Police Department by providing officers to assist with managing the flow of traffic and
providing additional law enforcement visibility.
