MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 19, 2008
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on February 19, 2008 at
6:06 p.m. in the Medina City Hall. Mayor Crosby presided.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Weir, Crosby, Cavanaugh, Smith
Members absent: Johnson
Also present: City Administrator Chad Adams, Public Works Superintendent
Steve Scherer and City Engineer Tom Kellogg
II. Hamel Road Reconstruction — Plans and Specs
City Engineer Tom Kellogg provided an overview of the Hamel Road Reconstruction
plans, primarily focusing on streetscape concepts. Discussion was held on the streetscape
plans and the timeline for bid opening, assessment hearing, project award and
commencement of construction.
The Council reached consensus on sidewalk bid options to include:
1. Base Bid: Concrete sidewalk for the entire project area
2. Alternate 1: As presented in the current plans with brick pavers sidewalk in dense
area of Uptown Hamel and concrete sidewalk on west end of project area.
3. Alternate 1: Creative pavement treatment as proposed by bidders for the project
area.
IV. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
