HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution - 73-27- 19730822 - Adopt Formula for Alloc.RESOLUTION NO. 73-27 RESOLUTION OF THE DIRECTORS OF THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT IN SUPPORT OF APPROVING AND ADOPTING A FORMULA FOR ALLOCATING THE LOCAL SHARE OF STATE PARK BOND FUNDS AMONG COUNTY, CITIES AND PARK DISTRICTS WHEREAS, there will be presented to the voters of the State of California in June of 1974 a State Beach, Park, Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond proposal; and WHEREAS, provisions of Chapter 912 of the Statutes of 1972 provide that $90,000,000 of the total of $250,000,000 will be available for grants to cities, counties and districts for the acquisition and develop- ment of recreation, park and historical area and facilities, and WHEREAS, the act further requires that each County, with cities and park and recreation districts, develop a for the expenditures for submission to the State by June in consultation priority plan 30, 1975 with approval by: (1) 50% of the cities and districts comprising at least 50% of the population, and (2) the Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Director of the State of California Parks and Recrea- tion Department, has requested that such a priority list be submitted to his office by January 1, 1974; and WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation of the County of Santa Clara has conferred with the principal park and recreation officials of the cities within the County to prepare a priority list for the alloca- tion of the local apportionment from the Act; and WHEREAS, a formula for such allocation has been prepared as shown on Exhibit ''A" attached hereto (amended version of 7 August, 1973); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Park District does hereby approve and adopt said formula as it establishes a percentage for the division of the share of "Regional" funds between the County and the Midpeninsula Regional Park District; and -1- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be transmitted to the County and to each of the cities within the County with the recommendation that each approve said amended formula by resolution. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *`* * * * * * * * * * * * * _ RESOLUTION NO. /""`i 71-97 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Park District on August 22 , 19 73 at a regular meeting thereof, by the following vote: AYES: D.
