HomeMy Public PortalAbout003-1991 - ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAP 95 OF THR RICHMOND CITY CODEAN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 95 OF THE RICHMOND CITY CODE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond that Chapter 95 of the Richmond City Code be amended as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 95.01 "Definitions" - "Department of Parks" be amended as follows: "Department of Parks and Recreation" The Department of Parks and Recreation of the City or the department of the City as may be under the jurisdiction of the Board. SECTION 2. That Section 95.01, "Definitions," be amended to include a new definition as follows: "Litter" "Litter" means all uncontained man-made waste materials. It includes all inoperable or disposed material commonly referred to as "junk." SECTION 3. That Section 95.02(A)(2) be amended to include the words "and Recreation" after the words "Department of Parks." SECTION 4. That Section 95.16 of the Code be amended as follows: (A) Injuring Park Property. No person shall injure or destroy any property under the supervision of the Board. No person shall alter or remove any Park property. No person shall suspend any wires or other objects over any part of any park. (B) Damaging Plants. No person shall alter or destroy any plants on any property under the supervision of the Board, or permit any animal under the control of that person to alter or destroy any plants. No person shall bring into any park any plant or portion thereof. SECTION 5. That Section 95.17(J) be amended as follows: No person may enter any park without paying the admission charge when an admission fee has been fixed by the Board. SECTION 6. That Section 95.18(B) of the Code be amended to include the words "and Recreation" after the words "Department of Parks." SECTION 7. That Section 95.23(A) of the Code be amended as follows: (A) Littering. In a number of placesthe term "and Recreation" is added to the term "Department of Parks." Two sections, 95.16 and 95.23, were condensed to remove what the Park Board felt was excess verbiage, and substitute plain English.
