Bal Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of
communication and transparency.

Weekly Summary Report
Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
The Code Enforcement Unit issued one violation and six warnings within the gated community this week. The violation
was issued to a construction site for the maintenance and appearance of the site. There were four warnings issued to
construction sites whose fences were in need of repair. Additionally, there were also two warnings issued to residential
properties whose water meters were obstructed and hindering public works efforts in upgrading existing water meters.
The final warning was issued to an Oceanfront property after a dump truck was observed picking up a debris container
prior to the permitted work hours.
Criminal Investigations
Comments:
The Criminal Investigations Division identified the subject of a grand theft that occurred at a retail location in the Bal
Harbour Shops. Detectives confronted the subject with the video evidence and obtained admissions of guilt. The
subject provided full restitution to the retailer in lieu of prosecution.
The Criminal Investigations Division has prepared an informative presentation about common scams affecting South
Florida. A community crime prevention seminar addressing this topic is scheduled for November 29 at Village Hall.
The seminar will address six of the most common scams: Virtual Kidnapping, Person -in -Need, IRS, Jury Duty,
Romance, and Lottery.

COMMENTS:
The Bal Harbour Police Department hosted the first annual Veteran's Day commemorative event. The event honored
all Veterans of the Armed Forces. Additionally, the police department recognized and paid tribute to our employees
who served in the military.

COMMENTS:
Bay Harbor Islands Police Department responded to a reported home invasion with injuries and requested assistance
from Bal Harbour officers. Bal Harbour officers arrived on scene and were advised the subject, a neighbor, stabbed
the victim and his dog. Bal Harbour officers assisted with calls for service in Bay Harbor until the crime scene was
secured and Bay Harbor officers were able to resume patrol functions.

9999 Collins Avenue — Bal Harbour Tower
COMMENTS:
Officers located a male who had stolen the victim's credit card and had used the card for fraudulent purchases. The
male was in possession of the victim's stolen credit card, a counterfeit Delaware driver's license and additional
fraudulent credit cards. A routine criminal history check revealed the male had an active warrant for felony theft from
Broward County. The male was arrested and transported to Miami -Dade County Jail.

COMMENTS:
A concerned citizen summoned the Bal Harbour police department regarding a male sleeping on a bus bench. Officers
arrived and located the male. After a brief inquiry, it was determined the mile had fallen asleep while waiting for the
bus. No injuries or damages were reported. 1 /
