A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT, ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE, WITH
INDUSTRIAL WASTE SERVICES, INC., MIAMI,
FLORIDA, FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION
AND RECYCLING SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
Whereas, on October 26, 1993, the Village Council authorized
a solid waste collection study; and
Whereas, on April 1, 1994, the Village presented Metropolitan
Dade County with a termination notice with respect to solid waste
services; and
Whereas, on May 10, 1994, the Village Council authorized the
drafting of a Request for Proposals for the collection,
transportation and disposal of solid waste for the residential area
of the Village; and
Whereas, on July 22, 1994, proposals from private contractors
were submitted to the Village; and
Whereas, on September 1, 1994, the Village Council authorized
the Village Manager and Village Attorney to negotiate a contract
with Industrial Waste Services, Inc., Miami, Florida, for the
collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste for the
residential area of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an
agreement, on behalf of Village, with Industrial Waste Services,
Inc., Miami, Florida, for residential solid waste collection and
recycling services.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
