The first warning was issued to a residential property that had left bulk debris out for pickup after the scheduled pick-up day of Thursday. The second warning was issued to a property under construction for the maintenance of the site. Criminal Investigations Comments: The Criminal Investigations Division continues to actively follow-up on pending cases. This week probable cause was developed in a fraud case and the investigator is seeking a warrant for the arrest of the subject. 2 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers, Jr. Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 11/16/2018 Assist Citizen 9910 Collins Avenue COMMENTS: Bal Harbour officers were summoned to perform a welfare check on an elderly female, her son had not been able to contact her for over 24 hours. Officer on scene were unable to see inside the apartment and received no response when knocking. Officers breached the door and entered the apartment, they found the victim lying on the floor in need of immediate medical attention. Miami -Dade Fire Rescue treated the victim on scene and transported her to the hospital. Date Incident Type Location 11/20/2018 Arrest/Fraud Bal Harbour Shops COMMENTS: Officers were summoned to Neiman Marcus regarding a fraud that had just occurred. Security advised officers that a suspect purported to be a current account holder had attempted to use the victim's account to purchase merchandise. The victim was contacted and told officers he was out of state. The investigation revealed the suspect produced an identification card with his picture and the victim's name. The subject was arrested and transported to jail without incident. Date Incident Type Location 11/20/2018 Active Shooter Training St. Regis Resort— 9703 Collins Avenue COMMENTS: Bal Harbour Police personnel hosted a training session with St. Regis employees on how to respond to active shooter situations. The training includes information on indicators relating to these incidents as well as interactive scenarios.
