HomeMy Public PortalAbout2019.105 (08-20-19) RESOLUTION NO. 2019.105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE PROPOSITION A DISCRETIONARY INCENTIVE GRANT PROGRAM MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR COLLECTING AND REPORTING DATA FOR THE NATIONAL TRANSIT DATABASE FOR REPORT YEAR 2016 AND ALL FUTURE REPORT YEARS WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) authorized payment of Proposition A Discretionary Incentive funds to each participant agency in an amount equal to the Federal funds generated for the region based on each agency's reported data; and WHEREAS, the City was a participant in the US Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration Consolidated National Transit Database (NTD) Reporters Random Sampling Program for the FY 2016 Report Year; and WHEREAS, the City has requested funds under the Proposition A Discretionary Incentive Program for collecting and reporting data for the NTD from the FY 2016 Report Year; and WHEREAS, MTA requires the City to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the receipt of $60,108 for the 2016 Reporting Year; and WHEREAS, the City also participated in collecting and providing data to MTA for the NTD report for Reporting Years 2017 and 2018, and thus may be eligible to receive funding for participating; and WHEREAS, for administrative ease, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an MOU with MTA starting from the FY2016 Report Year and subsequent years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding for Collecting and Reporting Data for the National Transit Database for Report Year 2016 attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding for Collecting and Reporting Data for the National Transit Database for Report Year 2017 and 2018 and all subsequent years that the City is eligible to receive funding. Section 3. That the Director of Finance is directed to submit an invoice to MTA prior to the deadline for each MOU executed. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
