NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana; SECTION 1. That for the expenses of said municipal corporation the following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated and ordered set apart out of the several appropriations, herein named and for the purposes herein specified, subject to the laws governing the same: PARK FUND 4000-Other Equipment AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED $ 40,000. $40,000. SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it has been shown that certain existing appropriations now have unobligated balances which will not be needed for the purposes for which appropriated, it is further ordained that the following existing appropriations be reduced in the following amounts. PARK FUND 1000-Personal Services AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED REDUCED $40,000. SECTION 3. SMEJKAL SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKS ANn RECREATION MEMORANDUM TO: Common Council FROM: Superintendent of Parks and Recreation DATE: July 12, 1991 RE: Request for Transfer In order to provide non -park mowing and weed control on City -owned property, it is necessary to purchase additional equipment. Funds were not available for capital items in the fiscal year 1991 budget. However, due to prolonged vacancies within the Parks and Recreation Department, such as the four -month period without a Superintendent, funds are available for transfer from payroll/personal services to capital expenditures. This is a one-time only request. Had all positions been in incumbency, we would not be afforded this latitude. It does not fully solve a shortage of resources for non -park mowing within the department, but it will assist us in addressing the desires of both council and community. `Please approve our request for transfer for the sum of $40,000.
