MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 20, 2007
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on February 20, 2007 at 6:08 p.m.
in the Medina City Hall. Acting -Mayor Smith presided.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Johnson, Weir, Cavanaugh, Smith
Members absent: Crosby
Also present: City Administrator Chad Adams, Police Chief Ed Belland
II. Annual Retreat/Goal Setting Session Work Plan
Adams provided an overview of the prioritized worksheets based on comments received by
Council members.
Cavanaugh arrived at 6:11 p.m.
Consensus was reached on the following Goals:
• Goal # 9 (Hamel VFD Planning) was modified to include "city-wide" fire departments in
addition to Hamel.
• Goal #15 (Tree Preservation Ordinance) was modified to accomplish in the Second
Quarter.
• Goal #29 (Qwest Research) was modified to accomplish in the Third Quarter.
• Goal #36 (LID Training) was modified to accomplish in the Third Quarter (July) after the
Open Space Plan and Comprehensive Plan are generally completed.
• Goal #37 (Open Space Trail Planning) was clarified to continue cross facilitation between
the Park Commission, Open Space Task Force and Comprehensive Plan Advisory Panel.
• Goal #51 (Employee Profiles) was clarified to include a broad Department overview.
III. Adjournment
Johnson moved, seconded by Weir to adjourn at 6:57p.n Motion passed unanimou,
Carolyn A. Smith, Acting -Mayor
