HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution - 73-04- 19730130 - Retain Attorney to analyRESOLUTION NO. 73-4 RESOLUTION RETAINING STANLEY NORTON TO PREPARE AN ANALYSIS OF THE BROWN ACT AS IT APPLIES TO DISCUSSIONS OF ACQUISITIONS OF INTERESTS IN LAND: AND TO PREPARE AN ANALYSIS OF REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE SECTION 2169 (SB9O, 1972). THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DIS- TRICT DOES RESOLVE that Stanley Norton, Attorney -at -Law, be retained by the Board, at standard attorney rates for such work, to prepare an analysis of the Brown Act as it applies to discussions of acquisi- tions of interests in land, and in particular to what extent, if any, the Board can meet in executive (non-public) session to discuss strategy relative to the acquisition of an interest in a specific parcel prior to the time the Board has decided to acquire such an interest; and to prepare an analysis of the effect of Revenue and Taxation Code Section 2169 (SB9O, 1972) on the taxing power of the District and to determine what steps, if any, are required to insure that the District may receive tax revenues in fiscal year 1973-1974.
