APPROVING COST SHARING AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF
MIDDLESEX / IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INTERSECTION OF
ROOSEVELT AVENUE, WASHINGTON AVENUE AND HOLMES
STREET
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") and the County of
Middlesex (the "County") have previously entered into a cost sharing agreement
with regard to the design and construction of improvements / modifications to the
existing traffic signal at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue, Washington
Avenue and Holmes Street, Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has requested changes in the proposed design for the
modification of the above referenced traffic signal; and
WHEREAS, said changes in the design plans have necessitated that a new cost
sharing agreement be entered into between the Borough and the County; and
WHEREAS, the Borough is still desirous of providing for
improvements/modifications of the existing traffic signal at the intersection of
Roosevelt Avenue, Washington Avenue and Holmes Street; and
WHEREAS, the County still recognizes the desirability of modifying/improving
the existing traffic signal at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue, Washington
Avenue and Holmes Street; and
WHEREAS, the above mentioned parties in the discharge of their public duties
are desirous of jointly providing for said modifications/improvements pursuant to
the terms of a revised cost-sharing agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. That the revised cost-sharing agreement between the
Borough and the County for the design and construction of
modifications/improvements to the existing traffic signal at the
intersection of Roosevelt Avenue, Washington Avenue and
Holmes Street is hereby approved.

2. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute said agreement in the requested number of
counterparts.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution along with the
executed copies of the cost-sharing agreement be
forwarded to John J. Reiser, Jr., P.E. & L.S., County
Engineer, County of Middlesex.

original on July 19, 2002.
