Home My Public Portal About025-1990 ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE 100BLK OF SOUTH WEST F ST AS• " � � � t1�►I•�=•' �rTId AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE 100 BLOCK OF SOUTH WEST F STREET AS A RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT AREA AND AUTHORIZING THE CONDITIONAL ISSUANCE OF PARKING PERMITS TO THE RESIDENTS OF SUCH AREA WHEREAS, the Common Council of Richmond, Indiana has established a procedure for the designation of residential parking permits areas known as Amended Ordinance No. 47-1984; and, WHEREAS, the procedure contained in such ordinance has been carried out and a report submitted to the Common Council by the Board of Public Works and Safety pursuant to such procedure; and, WHEREAS, the Common Council of Richmond, Indiana finds that the designation of the 100 Block of South West F Street satisfies the criteria of Amended Ordinance No. 47- 1984 and would serve the interests enumerated therein. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the portion of South West F Street located in the 100 Block is hereby designated a residential parking permit area within the purview of Amended Ordinance No. 47-1984; and the issuance of parking permits to residents of such area is hereby authorized subject to the conditions of Amended Ordinance No. 47- 1 984. "F" Street to limit parking to two (2) hours from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. except by permits (excluding Saturday -Sundays & holidays). These signs nave been installed in the 400 Block of S.W.2nd Street and habe been very effective in making parking spaces available to the residents who live in that block. F Street, I have checked this location several times the the past two weeks and I find the following: 1. The request does meet the standards set in the City Ordinance for restricted parking. 2. The parking for residents in this block is unavailable during school hours due to student parking. 3. A count taken of parking spaces on the Boulevard and Richmond High School parking lot indicates in excess of 98 spaces students could use for parking. 4. 100% of all neighbors effected by this restricted parking are in favor of this change. The hearing was held in accordance with the guidelines set out in amended Ordinance No. 47.1984. The Board requested the Traffic Division to conduct a block -by -block survey of the proposed residential parking area and to report its findings at the public hearing. Please see the attached letter from Sgt. Kolentus. Based upon the petition and the findings of the Traffic Division, the Board recommends that the 100 block of Southwest "F" Street be made a Residential Parking District. It is now forwarded to the Common Council for action. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact my office.
