ORDINANCE NO. 73 -370
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY AMENDING SECTIONS 9291 AND-9363 OF
THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING.TO
OFF- STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Temple City does
hereby find, determine and declare:
(a) That the public interest and welfare require an
amendment to the Temple City Municipal Code relating
to the number of required off - street parking spaces .
for multiple family dwellings; and
(b) That the present requirements of the Temple City
'Municipal Code relating to off - street parking require-
ments are excessive; and
(c) That the public interest, convenience and necessity
require the amendment of the Temple City Municipal Code
in the manner hereinafter set forth.
SECTION 2. Section 9291 of. the Temple City'Municipal
Code is hereby amended by the amendment of the subparagraph there;
of entitled "DWELLING UNITS" to read as follows:
DWELLING UNITS
Single family and duplex.
Two (2) parking spaces per dwelling unit each of which
must be located in a garage.
Multiple.
Two (2) parking spaces per dwelling unit, each .. of
which must be located in a garage or carport, plus
one space, which may be either enclosed or unenclosed,
per dwelling unit for each three (3) units or any fraction thereof.
SECTION 3. Subparagraph (2) (f) of Section 9362 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
(f) Off- Street Parking: Each lot in the R -3 zone shall
have, on the same lot or parcel of land, parking spaces
as provided in Section 9291. Such parking "facilities shall
be conveniently accessible and located only on such portions
of the lot or parcel of land upon which structures may be
erected. The off - street parking spaces which are required
to be located in a garage or carport shall be located upon
the lot so that the vehicular access thereto is not directly
visible from a public street.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and to its approval by the Mayor and shall cause the
same to be published in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Temple
City.
