APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #4
T. GROSSO & SON, INC.-
CARTERET AVENUE PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously awarded a
contract to T. Grosso & Son, Inc. in the amount of $192,350.00 for the Cartcret Avenue
Pedestrian Improvements Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T & M Associates, has
advised the Governing Body that a modification to the contract is reasonable and
necessary and has recommended that thc aforesaid contract be modified in accordance
with Contract Change Order #4, attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Change Order g4 includes a change in the description of work to reduce
and increase quantities to reflect as-built conditions and to add a supplemental item to
include a time of completion penalty; and
VqHEREAS, Change Order g4 provides for a net reduction in the contract price in the
amount of $34,395.42, resulting in a revised contract price of $157,954.58, including all
previously approved change orders to date; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T&M Associates, has advised that the
above described changes and/or modifications to the project were unforeseen at the time
of the award of the original contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
(1) Contract Change Order #4, attached hereto and made a part hereof, providing
for a net reduction of $34,395.42 in the overall contract price and resulting in a
revised total contract price of $157,954.58, including all previously approved
change orders to date, is hereby approved.

(2) That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized and directed to
execute Change Order #4.
(3) That a copy of this Resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order #4
be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and to T&M Associates
for distribution to T. Grosso & Son, Inc..
