EDGAR GIECK TRUSTEE HOOVER TRUSTEE HOFF TRUSTEE HOVEL TRUSTEE MARSH TRUSTEE RAU TRUSTEE SHEETS CLERK LESH SEVERAL AUDIENCE MEMBERS WERE PRESENT. MAYOR GIECK PRESIDED SPECIAL MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL MEETING HELD THIS EVENING AT 7:00 P. M. 91-04 LAWN The seven lawn mowing bids opened at the MOWING regular meeting, March 19, 1991 were CONTRACT reviewed. Several members concurred that Clyde McNeece, a local resident, who performed the contract last year should be awarded the mowing contract for the summer of 1991. It was the consensus that the low bidder would not be able to perform at the rate he bid. MOTION WAS MADE BY TRUSTEE HOFF, to award the lawn mowing bid for 1991 to Clyde McNeece, for a cost of S400. 00 per week. VOTE WAS AS FOLLOWS; YEAS: Trustee's Marsh, Hovel, Hoff, and Mayor Bieck. NAYS: Trustees Rau, Sheets, and Hoover. MOTION CARRIED CLEANING PERSON Review, consideration, and discussion was held on the cleaning proposals received. The eleven proposals received from Ault PAGE ONE 1991, MARCH 26 residences were considered. MOTION WAS MADE BY TRUSTEE SHEETS, to award the cleaning position to Cherri A. Lucero. VOTE WAS AS FOLLOWS: YEAS: Trustees Hovel, Rau, Sheets, Hoover, Hoff, and Mayor Gieck. ABSTAIN: Trustee Marsh MOTION CARRIED SALARY FOR MOTION WAS MADE BY TRUSTEE HOFF, to pay the CLEANING cleaning person position $5. 00 per hour. MOTION CARRIED TREE BOARD Trustee Hoff, chairman of the tree board announced that the Tree Ordinance pertaining to tree trimming would be printed on the back of the water bills. Trustee Hoffwill talk with residents in violation of the ordinance. PLAYGROUND Placement of the new playground equipment was EQUIPMENT reviewed. Harvey Nelson gave a brief history of Liberty Park, telling it was dedicated to the World War I Veterans in 1921. He remembers circle drives, pathways, a bandstand, water fountain and flower gardens. He recommended placing the new playground equipment on the grass down along the sidewalk on the south side of the park along the elementary building. Discussion was held and it was concluded that the Parks Committee will meet and decide on placement of the play ground equipment. EASTSIDE PARK Trustee Hovel recommended further study IMPROVEMENTS for the Eastside Park Improvements Plan. Gary White, an audience member, expressed his views concerning the proposed baseball field at the Eastside Park. He felt that the steel storage building should not be moved. Tearing out or moving the drainage pond would open the Town up for possible lawsuits. He went on to say that once a flood control plan is established, you can't PAGE TWO 1991, MARCH 26 take it out. He also felt that the residents of Ault should be polled to obtain their desires. ADOPTION MOTION WAS MADE BY TRUSTEE HOVEL, to adopt RESOLUTION 2-91 Resolution 1-91, a resolution authorizing the Town of Ault to join with other public Entities as a participant in Jefftrust in order to pool funds for investments. All members voting YES, MOTION CARRIED INTERRUPTIBLE The Board concurred that our level of POWER SERVICE interruptible power irrigation service should stay at Option A. SEWER SYSTEM This matter was tabled for review. The first EAST SIDE TOWN step is to determine if the properties in concern have been annexed into Town. UNIFORM BUILDING After conferring with the Town Attorney, it CODE is determined that the motion of July 1978, concerning permits not required for the first 1000. 00 of improvements, is superseded by the adoption of the Uniform Building Code. SCENIC AND The Pawnee Pioneer Trails will route traffic HISTORIC BYWAYS into Ault on Highway 14, on route back into Greeley. It was the consensus of the Board to write a letter of support for this project. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 10:30 p. m. ATTEST : iv PATRICIA J.
