AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other
source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies
received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has funding available
for activities in connection with cleanup and landfill maintenance of the former Dana
property located at 2153 and 2175 Williamsburg Pike, Richmond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to utilize said funds for the activities in connection with
the former Dana property; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit a
grant application to IDEM to help fund the activities in connection with the cleanup and landfill
maintenance of the former Dana property located at 2153 and 2175 Williamsburg Pike, Richmond,
Indiana.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said funding in an amount up to Sixty-two
Thousand Five Hundred Ninety-six Dollars and Zero Cents ($62,596.00).
3. All funding, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to help fund the
activities in connection with cleanup and landfill maintenance of the former Dana property located at
2153 and 2175 Williamsburg Pike, Richmond, Indiana.
Passed and adopted this .15 day of , 2013, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
