HomeMy Public PortalAbout2019.142 (11-19-19) RESOLUTION NO. 2019.142 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SULLY-MILLER AS THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $781,743 FOR THE CAPISTRANO AVENUE STREET AND WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP NO. 4011.68.078); AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT WHEREAS,the Capistrano'Avenue Street and Water Improvement Project entails street resurfacing, and partial replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutters, driveways approaches, and curb ramps, traffic signing and striping, construction of 1320 LF of 8" D.I.P. and 95 LF of 12" D.I.P. water main lines; install 9 D.I. Resilient-Wedge Valves; remove and replace 50 water meter services and lines; remove and replace 3 fire hydrant assemblies and related service lines; and finally, abandon and fill with slurry all existing water lines; and WHEREAS, the Project limit is Capistrano Avenue from Norton Avenue to Century Boulevard; and WHEREAS, on October 23, 2019, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, on the City's web site (PlanetBids); and WHEREAS, on November 5, 2019, council approved funding allocation of Measure M Bonds in the amount of$698,926, and Water Fund in the amount of$604,108 for a total allocation of $1,303,034 for the Capistrano Avenue Street and Water Improvement is from; and WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on November 13, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. (Pacific Time); and WHEREAS, staff received Six (6) bid proposals; and WHEREAS, Sully-Miller Contracting Company is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, adjustments to the Project Budgets are not needed to carry out the Project at this time. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement in a from approved by the City Attorney between the City of Lynwood and Sully-Miller Contracting Company for the Capistrano Avenue Street and Water Improvement Project No. 4011.68.078 in the amount of$781,743. 1 Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council Resolution.
