Motion by Nielsen second by Lindaman to approve the minutes of the February meeting. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to approve the Treasurer’s Report for February. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Hauen second by Nielsen to approve the following bills for payment. All ayes, carried. Monroe St. Gary will be working with Van Heiden to complete the final plan. Steve Cox, Grundy County, presented plans for the resurfacing of T-19 through Wellsburg. Bids will be let April 21st and estimated cost for the City will be $60,000 - $80,000. Stimulus funds will be used for a portion of the resurfacing. At 8:02 p.m. the Mayor determined that this was the time and place for the Public Hearing on the proposed FY 2010 budget. Being there were no written or oral objections the Mayor declared the public hearing close at 8:04 p.m. Motion by Nielsen second by Warren to approve Resolution 03-2009 a resolution approve the FY 2010 Budget. Roll call of votes. All ayes, motion carried. Karen Mennega, Library Director, presented the Library Report. Discussion of demolition and the Library construction project. Huff Contracting would like to close a portion of the alley behind the construction site. Home owners and businesses will still have access to their properties. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Hauen to close the alley during construction of the library. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Hauen second by Lindaman to purchase a drain cover for the swimming pool. Cost to be $950.00. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by Warren to approve the construction of a pole building across from the Sewer Treatment Plant to house the trash pumps. Bierman Construction will be constructing the building at a cost $5833.92. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Heiden second by Lindaman to purchase a used asphalt roller from Eddy Walker at a cost of $5500.00. The City will pick up. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Hauen to purchase a new computer for City Hall and new monitor for the City Shed. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Hauen second by Van Heiden to approve a $1,000.00 donation to Wellsburg Daze Fireworks. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman, second by Van Hauen to approve the following Fire Department Officers: Rodney Kolthoff, Chief; Jeff Rae, Assistant Chief; Rick Riebkes, Captain; Steve Nielsen Captain; and Dave Henning, President. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by Lindaman to approve a building permit for Greg Heikens. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Hauen second by Lindaman to approve liquor license for the Meadowbrook Golf Course. All ayes, carried. Discussion about the committee for Hazard Mitigation Plan.
