Forbes , AICP , Community Developm e nt Director~ By: Jennifer Venters , Planning Secretary SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 9 , 2014 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission (Commission) actions from their meeting of September 9, 2014 . BACKGROUND: On September 9 , 20 14 , the Commiss io n held their regularly schedu led meeting . ANALYSIS: The following is a summary of actions taken at the September 9 , 2014 meeting : 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Absent: Excused: Commissioner -Cordes , Horton , O'Leary Commissioner -None Commissioner-Vi ce-Chairma n Curran , Chairman Leung 2 . CONSENT CALENDAR The Commission approved the minutes from their regu lar meeting of July 22 , 2014 . L __ City Council October 7 , 2014 Page 2 of 3 3. PUBLIC HEARING A. A REQUEST FOR A TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP TO CONSTRUCT FOUR CONDOMINIUM UNITS IN THE R-2 ZONE. The Commission approved a Tentative Parcel Map to construct four condominium units located at 4857 Arden Drive . Each unit has two-stories , 1,567 to 1,603 square feet of living area , includes four bedrooms , four full bathrooms and a 2-car garage. The property is zoned Light Multiple Family Residential (R-2) and is designated Medium Dens ity Residential by the City 's General Plan . B. A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PIZZA RESTAURANT IN THE TEMPLE CITY MARKETPLACE SHOPPING CENTER. The Commission approved a Conditional Use Permit for the establishment of a new pizza restaurant (Pizza Five 85) within the Temple City Marketplace shopping center at 5813 Rosemead Boulevard. The hours of operation for the restaurant are from 11:00 a.m . to 9:30 p .m. seven days a week and will accommodate seating for up to 66 customers . The property is zoned General Commercial (C-2) and Heavy Commercial (C-3) by the City's General Plan . 4 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS -None 5 . NEW BUSINESS-None 6 . COMMUNICATIONS-None 7 . UPDATE FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR Community Development Director Forbes announced the upcoming joint meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Planning Commission to discuss park impact fees tentatively scheduled October 15 , 2014. 8. ADJOURNMENT The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8 :09 p.m . CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
