AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING
SECTIONS 2363, 2371 AND 2702 OF THE TEMPLE CITY
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO PERSONNEL
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2363 of the Temple City Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2363. Compensation for Overtime
A. It is the policy of the City that overtime work shall he
discouraged. Employees may be required to work beyond the established
work week if, in the judgment of the City, it is necessary in order to
meet emergencies or to more effectively accomplish the work to be done.
Overtime shall not be accorded employees employed in an executive,
administrative or professional capacity. All other employees shall be
compensated for overtime.
B. Employees shall receive overtime pay for hours worked in
excess of 40 at a rate not less than time and one -half his regular pay.
C. Overtime shall not be authorized without prior City Manager
approval except in an emergency and all payments for overtime must have
City Manager authorization.
SECTION 2. Sections 2371 and 2702 of the Temple City Municipal
Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2371. Holidays
All employees shall be entitled to the following legal holidays
each year:
January 1
February (3rd Monday)
March or April -
May (last Monday)
July 4
September (1st Monday)
November 11
November (4th Thursday)
December 25
New.Year's Day
Washington's Birthday
Good Friday - 12:15 p.m. to closing
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
Section 2702. City Offices - Hours
The City offices of the City of Temple City shall be closed on:
January 1
February (3rd Monday)
March or April -
May (last Monday)
July 4
September (1st Monday)
November 11
November (4th Thursday)
December 25
New Year's Day
Washington's Birthday
Good Friday - 12:15 p.m. to closing
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
SECTION 3. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to its
approval by the Mayor, and shall cause the same to be published in
the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
