A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING AGREEMENT
WITH SECURITY OF LOS ANGELES (SOLA) IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,381.50
TO INCLUDE PREVAILING WAGES, A 64 CHANNEL NETWORK VIDEO
RECORDER, AND SEVEN ADDITIONAL CAMERAS IN CITY HALL AND CITY
HALL NORTH; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR DESIGNEE TO AMEND THE
AGREEMENT; AND APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF $20,000 FROM
THE 2017 LEASE REVENUE BOND PROCEEDS (FUND 9053) TO THE
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (FUND 4011)
WHEREAS, on August 18, 2018, the City Council approved a contract with Security of
Los Angeles (SOLA) in the amount of$109,616.55 to implement an IP security camera solution
in multiple city facilities; and
WHEREAS, the work was completed in the Senior Center, Bateman Hall, Natatorium,
Youth Center, and the Community Center early last year that totaled $79,952.96, but work was
delayed in City Hall and City Hall North due to planned renovations; and
WHEREAS, now that renovations are complete in City Hall North and underway in City
Hall and staff identified additional areas that need surveillance monitoring to provide an extra
layer of security; and
WHEREAS, additional cameras and services will require an amendment to the
agreement in the amount of$22,381.50 funded from the 2017 Lease Revenue Bonds to include
prevailing wages, a 64 channel network video recorder, and seven additional cameras in City
Hall and City Hall North; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting that the City Council authorize the Mayor to
amend the existing agreement in the amount of $22,381.50 and appropriate $20,000
from the 2017 Lease Revenue Bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to amend the agreement with
Security of Los Angeles (SOLA) in the amount of $22,381.50 and authorizes the Mayor
or designee to execute an agreement with SOLA upon approval as to form by the City
Attorney to implement an IP security camera solution, and authorizing the City Manager
to purchase equipment and services to implement an IP security camera solution.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes the appropriation of $20,000 from the
2017 Lease Revenue Bond proceeds (Fund 9053) to the Capital Improvement Program
(Fund 4011) detailed below.

Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.

of the City of Lynwood, California, this 21st day of January 2020.
