A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN THE COUNTYWIDE
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM SITING
LIABILITY AGREEMENT FOR THE MARCH 21, 2020 EVENT AND
FUTURE ANNUAL EVENTS IN A FORM APPROVED BY THE CITY
ATTORNEY AND TO WAIVE PERMIT FEES FOR THE 2020 EVENT
AND ALL FUTURE EVENTS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Sanitation
District has sponsored one-day Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic
Waste (E-Waste) one-day collection events throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, the HHW and E-Waste events provide a free and legal way for
Lynwood residents and County residents to dispose of HHW and E-Waste; and
WHEREAS, every year the Countywide Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Program Siting Liability Agreement is presented to the City Council for their approval;
and
WHEREAS, for efficiency, staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized
to approve and sign the Countywide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program
Siting Liability Agreement for the 2020'Event and future events.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council agrees to allow the Los Angeles County and the
County Sanitation District to use City streets at the corner of Butler Avenue and
Bellinger Street and authorizes street closures for the event during the period of March
20, 2020 at 8:00 am to 4:00 pm March 21, 2020.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Countywide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program Siting Liability
Agreements in a form approved by the City Attorney; attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager the execute future
Countywide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program Siting Liability
Agreements in a form approved by the City Attorney and to approve the street closures.
Section 4. That the City Council authorizes staff to waive City permit fees for the
2020 and future events that the County of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County
Sanitation District may request to be waived related to the collection event.

Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Lynwood, California, this 21st day of January 2020.
