HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 3/3/2008 The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session March 3, 2008 with Mayor Fox presiding and council member Nielsen and Van Heiden present. Absent Lindaman, Buseman and Van Hauen. Lindaman arrived at 7:20. The council proceeded (without a quorum present) with a report from the Greg Riebkes, Library Board, and Karen Mennenga, Acting Library Director. They presented an update on upcoming events and reported on the progress of the Library Building Project. Ralph Savoy, fund drive consultant, will be at the finance meeting Thursday March 6 at 5:30. At 7:20 Lindaman arrived and the council proceeded with the agenda. Motion by Nielsen second by Lindaman to approve the February regular meeting and special meeting minutes. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Nielsen to approve the February Treasurer’s Report. All ayes, carried. Motion by Van Heiden second by Lindaman to approve the following bills for payment. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve budget requests from Operation Threshold, Chemical Dependency and Big Brother/Big Sisters. All ayes, carried. At 7:40 p.m. the Mayor declared that this was the place for public hearing on the proposed FY 2009 budget. Being the were no oral or written objections the Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:42 p.m. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to approve Resolution 03-2008-1, a resolution approving the FY 2009 budget. Roll call of votes, all ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve Resolution 03-2008-2, a resolution accepting the plat of the William Riekena Subdivision.
