CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
RESOLUTION 2 -2008
A RESOLUTION OF RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SUPPORTING THE
RICHMOND COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FOR THEIR ADOPTION OF
A STUDENT DRESS CODE
WHEREAS, Richmond Community Schools, after much deliberation and input from the
general public as well as the students, faculty and administration of Richmond Community
Schools, has adopted a new student dress code to be implemented at the beginning of the school's
2008 -2009 school year; and
WHEREAS, Common Council for the City of Richmond, as a reflection of community
support as well as support of members of Common Council of the need for a new dress code,
supports and applauds the efforts and result of Richmond Community Schools in their adoption of
a new student dress code; and
WHEREAS, Common Council for the City of Richmond believes it is in the best interests of
the students, administration and staff of the Richmond Community School to have the new dress
code that has been adopted; and
WHEREAS, Common Council for the City of Richmond encourages Richmond Community
School teachers to show their support for the new dress code and to serve as role models for their
students through their own dress and demeanor.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council for the City of Richmond that
it fully supports and applauds the efforts of Richmond Community Schools in their adoption of
the new student dress code and encourages Richmond Community Schools teachers to serve as
role models for their students through the teachers' own dress and demeanor.
Passed and adopted this day of May, 2008, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
