A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SEQUEL CONTRACTORS, INC. AS THE
LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT OF$1,058,692 FOR
THE BREWSTER AVENUE STREET AND WATER IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT; APPROVING ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF$1,191,367 FROM MEASURE M BONDS (FUND 2357)AND
$320,976 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED WATER FUND (FUND 6051) OR
AVAILABLE UTILITY BOND FUND; AND APPROVING A BUDGET
AMENDMENT ON STREET IMPROVEMENT PMP (CIP 4011.68.061)
WHEREAS, the Brewster Avenue Street and Water Improvement Project entails
street resurfacing, and partial replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutters,
driveways approaches, and curb ramps, traffic signing and striping, construction of 1,792
Linear Feet of 8" D.I.P. and 82 Linear Feet of 12" D.I.P. water main lines; installation of
23 D.I. Resilient-Wedge Valves; removal and replacement of 52 water meter services and
lines; removal and replacement of 5 fire hydrant assemblies and related service lines;
and finally, abandonment and fill-in of slurry on all existing water lines; and
WHEREAS, the Project limit is Brewster Avenue from Harris Avenue to Atlantic
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2019, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was
advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, and on the City's web site (PlanetBids); and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on Monday,
December 9, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. (Pacific Time); and
WHEREAS, staff received six (6) bid proposals; and
WHEREAS, Sequel Contractors, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, adjustments to the Project Budgets are not needed to carry out the
Project at this time; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND,PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Sequel Contractors, Inc. for the Brewster Ave Street
and Water Improvement Project (CIP No. To be Determined) in the amount of
$1,058,692.40.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the following budget adjustment and
appropriations:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
