A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SULLY-MILLER CONTRACTING
COMPANY AS THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT
OF $830,600 FOR THE GERTRUDE DRIVE STREET AND WATER
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT; AND APPROVING ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $954,453 FROM SB1 (FUND 2121) FUND AND
$238,500 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED WATER FUND (FUND 6051) OR
AVAILABLE UTILITY BOND FUND
WHEREAS, Gertrude Drive Street and Water Improvement Project ("Project")
consists of partial removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, curb/gutter, driveways
and curb ramps; removal and reconstruction of portions of street sections exhibiting signs
of base failure; removal and replacement of portions of native soil as needed; grind and
overlay with new asphalt the entire street section; adjustment to grade all storm
drain/sewer/utility maintenance hole covers; adjustment to grade all water valve can and
covers; provision of all traffic striping, markings, curb painting, house addresses and
signage.
WHEREAS, the Project also involves constructing a 674 LF of 8" D.I.P water main
line; removing and replacing 19 water meter services and lines; removing and replacing
1 fire hydrant assemblies and related service lines; and finally, abandoning and filling with
slurry all existing water lines; and
WHEREAS, the Project limit Gertrude Drive from Magnolia Avenue to Agnes
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2019, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was
advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, on the City's web site (PlanetBids); and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on December
9, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. (Pacific Time); and
WHEREAS, staff received Six (6) bid proposals; and
WHEREAS, Sully-Miller Contracting Company is the lowest responsible bidder;
and
WHEREAS, adjustments to the Project Budgets is needed to carry out the Project
at this time; and

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Sully-Miller Contracting Company for the Gertrude
Street and Water Improvement Project(CIP Project No. To Be Determined) in the amount
of$830,600.00.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the following appropriation:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
