HomeMy Public PortalAbout034-2013 - Grant - Fire Dept - State Homeland Security FoundatiORDINANCE NO. 34-2013 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has grant funding available through the Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Grant; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to procure miscellaneous hazardous materials equipment C Hazmat Equipment"); and WHEREAS, No local match is required. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for the Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Grant. 2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Four Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,000.00). 3. Said grant funding shall be used to procure miscellaneous Hazmat Equipment for the Richmond Fire Department.
